Mr. Karate launched yesterday to his own fanfare in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. So much so that SNK gave the master his very own animated Masami Obari short similar to Geese and Krauser’s anime intros.
This time, Mr. Karate is backing his style’s dojo up in South Town. Mr. Big and his gang descend on the Kyokougen Dojo with the gangster beating the snot out of Marco Rodriguez. Terry witnesses this and decides to call the Tengu-masked man to defend the style, dojo, and their students.
There are more hints as to who this could be. A certain Sakazaki family member watches Mr. Karate prepare for the battle. This one also appears in an ending, too. Terry even recalls his own dad witnessing the Geese fight that Mr. Karate had and the tiger spirit. Terry even reveals the secret identity of the latest DLC addition. It’s hard to say where this takes place in the anime timeline since Terry and the gang’s bout with Krauser was not looking too good for the Wolves. So many questions yet so little time.
At this point, SNK should just get a 40-episode OVA series in and call it a day with all these shorts. The story’s getting interesting each time they release one.
SNK had also released a new Character Guide for Mr. Karate to speak on what he can do in matches. We’ve broken down some of the tech recently for this scary character.
The internet has already cracked the DLC character at his possible fullest potential with Desk getting 53 hits in as a 100% damage combo without the use of a super move. Also, not even close to using Rev meter to the limit, neither.
Mr. Karate is the second last character in the Season 2 DLC with Fist of the North Star‘s Kenshiro to show face next month.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
