With Blue Mary making her return to King of Fighters stage in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, someone else is also stepping in. SNK hinted at the hero back a few months ago, but with just a small clip. Many had speculated that there would be a collaboration of some kind and a signature move to come. Many believed, but now, it’s all true.
Fist of the North Star’s Kenshiro will be joining the Fatal Futy: City of the Wolves roster this June to somewhat round out the Season 2 DLC run. How he’ll end up playing seems to still be up in the air. How he’ll fit is also somewhat of a mystery as a guest.
Kenshiro’s Fist of the North Star story takes place in a dystopian future and City of the Wolves is possibly around 2010 (which aligns itself with Street Fighter VI to a point as well as it being 2 years after Mark of the Wolves takes place). SNK stated that they will find a way to make this fit despite the challenge of how the story will be. Fatal Fury already has ghosts and warlords attempting to possess bodies in South Town as it is, so they’ll find a way.
Reality wise, this could be a way cross-promote something else. Evo Japan 2026 was looking to bring back a certain Arc System Works fighting game title from the Fist Of The North Star mythos from the PlayStation 2 era.
Perhaps this is SNK’s way to usher in a potential remaster port of that game in order to get people practicing for the big event. It can also be for the new upcoming Fist of the North Star anime, also. It also had a trailer pop up around the same time.
Personally, I’d rather see him get thrown into Kizuna Encounters since it’s already a future set game. Anyway, Kenshiro already has an in-game render for City of the Wolves.

With Jae Hoon, Geese Howard, Blue Mary, already in, and Krauser forthcoming: one more spot remains.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
