Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been relatively quiet when it comes to DLC, but that may be starting to change. Dataminers have noticed a significant increase in the game’s overall file size, jumping from 65 GB to 77 GB, according to Eurogamer. The data, pulled from SteamDB, has sparked speculation that something larger is on the way, especially when compared to updates like Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, which came in at around 16 GB. As of now, Capcom hasn’t confirmed what this mysterious addition actually is.
This potential expansion is especially notable given how well the base game was received. In our Dragon’s Dogma 2 review, we called it a “masterwork comeback,” praising its ambitious world design, dynamic combat, and the freedom it gives players to carve their own path. That kind of foundation makes the idea of a substantial DLC drop even more exciting.
Capcom also recently shared a celebratory image featuring the game’s NPCs gathered in a tavern, raising a drink together, a small but welcome reminder that the game is still very much on their mind.
Hail, Arisen! The 2nd anniversary of Dragon's Dogma 2 is upon us. To celebrate the milestone, we've prepared this special celebratory artwork.

If this does turn out to be a full expansion, it would follow a familiar path. The original Dragon’s Dogma received the Dark Arisen expansion about a year after launch, introducing an entirely new area along with tougher enemies and deeper mechanics.

With Capcom currently pushing major releases like Resident Evil 9 Requiem and Pragmata, alongside the upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword, this could be the moment Dragon’s Dogma 2 fans have been waiting for.
