Capcom revealed Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s new expansion at the Nintendo Direct today. Right when all hope was lost in just rumors of it coming to the 2024 title, faith was restored in the masterwork as Capcom brought out the expansion. From the looks of things, Dark Arisen might be the ultimate fantasy chill. The Action RPG is far from finished its tale of the dragon that stole a heart.. literally.
In the icy region of Norgan, lies a challenge similar to Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen‘s Brittleblack Island of the first game, but in a more massive undertaking. Snow giants that breathe ice is one of them. Especially to the point of freezing anyone who gets hit by them. Dragons are abound once more to heat things up. Some are in caves and caverns, while others are more dead than alive. One even has minions of the Undead to aid it in rendering the Arisen.

And also, a mysterious figure who insists on dispatching a foe without the Arisen’s assistance. Dark Arisen had a similar NPC who’d appear in the strangest times, and also as strange as he’d appear. Perhaps she’s tied to Norgan’s own puzzle. Or as an Arisen herself who has chosen another way against the will of the final dragon.

“Once a prosperous region of the kingdom of Vermund, it was abandoned many years ago for reasons unknown, Long has it been since any soul traveled its paths. Blanketed in heavy snow, these frigid lands are home to savage hordes and creatures of unbelievable power. Those who are capable of vanquishing such fearsome foes, or those who possess a keen eye for exploration, will find themselves rewarded with powerful relics.” — says Capcom about the region of Norgan.

New bosses, enemies, and skills are coming with this update. Pawns seem to have a way to save one from danger, but this is more emphasized than ever before with that quick save from death. Norgan does look lonelier than Vermund did, thanks to the Northern ice caps. Also, fighting in blizzards already has me wanting to sign up to see how tricky the dragon fights could get with that hindrance. Also, how many times would my Pawn party get lost in the snow.. ball fight?
