It’s been a long time coming, but Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is finally real, and it’s aiming to take the series somewhere entirely new.
Two months ago, during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, Bandai Namco Entertainment America officially revealed a new title based in the Dragon Ball universe; Project AGE 1000. However, at the time we didn’t know this was going to be the next title in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series, but now we do. It’s been nearly a decade since the last game, and instead of playing it safe, this one is introducing a brand-new setting that immediately stands out: AGE 1000.
If you caught the earlier teaser, you already had a hint that something different was on the way. Now we know that AGE 1000 isn’t just a backdrop. It’s a completely new era designed to tell fresh stories within the Dragon Ball universe, inspired by the work of Akira Toriyama. But also, thanks to this new trailer, we also know that Dimps is also working on the game, just like the prior games in the series, and that’s pretty exciting.
At the center of it all is West City, a vibrant new hub where players will explore, fight, and uncover what’s really going on behind the scenes. Like previous entries, you’ll create your own character and choose the kind of hero you want to become. This time, you’ll be stepping into the ranks of the Great Saiyan Squad, fighting alongside allies as events begin to unfold.
From what’s been shown so far, Xenoverse 3 looks to build on the series’ mix of RPG storytelling and fast-paced combat, but with a stronger push toward something that feels fresh. A new era, a new city, and a new cast of characters all point to a more ambitious direction for the franchise.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is currently slated to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco has confirmed that more details will be revealed in the coming months, so expect to hear a lot more about this one soon.
