Devolver Digital Praises Nintendo Switch 2 While Highlighting Key Sales Figure

A "big opportunity" awaits!

Devolver Digital, Nintendo Switch 2

When the original Nintendo Switch came to the gaming space, no one could’ve known the path that it would take and the records it would set. It’s because of those results that the Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the most anticipated things in the history of gaming…even with all the controversies and political issues surrounding it currently. Even with them, though, many different game makers are stepping forward to highlight their excitement for the new system, and that includes Devolver Digital. They’ve been making quite a few games in recent years, and during an investor presentation, they’ve revealed their success on the OG Switch.

Specifically, Devolver Digital revealed that the OG Switch was its “most popular console” as it sold 9 million units across its games on the system. That’s pretty impressive, and that’s why they also labeled the Nintendo Switch 2 as a “big opportunity” for them going forward, with the Direct from two weeks ago already highlighting three games that are coming out from the developer soon.

While it’s impossible to know how well they’ll do, it does speak to how game developers are looking at the Switch 2 compared to other systems like the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. They’re viewing it not just as a place to release their games, but for their games to do well.

June 5 is when the console releases, and then we’ll see if this “big opportunity” plays out the way they hope.
