Get ready, Call of Duty fans, because Activision has released a massive amount of new information regarding the upcoming Season 05 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Launching on July 23, 2026, Season 05 will bring another sizable content update across Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and Endgame. Players can expect several Multiplayer maps, a frozen Zombies Survival location, a new Verdansk point of interest, four weapons, Ranked Play updates, and the final chapter of the Black Ops 7 Zombies storyline.
Activision has also released a new Season 05 trailer highlighting some of the new content arriving at launch and throughout the season. Check it out below.
New and Returning Multiplayer Maps
Season 05 will add Jubilee, a brand-new Multiplayer map set during a rural Japanese festival. Players will also be able to return to remastered versions of Dig and Frequency when the season begins.
More maps will arrive during the Mid-Season update, including Turbo Tilt, which places Operators inside a giant Nuketown-themed pinball machine. A new Freerun map is also planned, challenging players to jump, dive, and navigate through a parkour-focused environment.
The season will introduce Overdrive Domination, a variation of Domination that allows players to power up their Operators while capturing and defending objectives. Gauntlet Rush will have teams competing across five different game modes, while Cranked Moshpit will arrive later during the Mid-Season update.
Multiplayer Ranked Play will also receive a seasonal reset and a new collection of rewards for players climbing through the Skill Divisions.
Zombies Heads to Eidskallen Lighthouse
Zombies players will return to the frozen land of the giants with Eidskallen Lighthouse, a new Survival map set within a confined section of Totenreich. Players will need to use the limited resources available to survive increasingly difficult rounds, with additional rewards available for reaching specific round milestones.
Directed Mode will also be added to Kowakujō, providing players with more guidance while completing the map’s Main Quest. A new Starting Room experience will drop squads into the Outer Ward, where they must survive using only the equipment and resources found inside the area.
Astra Malorum is joining Rogue Run through three new playlists featuring increasingly difficult challenges. Players who survive each wave will be able to select a power-up before teleporting to the next area, with Calling Cards and GobbleGum available as rewards.
The Mid-Season update will bring the final round-based Zombies map for Black Ops 7, concluding the game’s ongoing storyline with a confrontation against the Warden. The update will also introduce a returning Perk-a-Cola, a new GobbleGum, and two Ultra-Rarity legacy weapons.
Drone Labs Comes to Verdansk
Call of Duty: Warzone will expand Verdansk with Drone Labs, a new point of interest located south of the Quarry. The location features two large L-shaped buildings containing Administrative Offices and Research and Development areas, along with an outdoor obstacle course designed for drone piloting.
Drone Labs will also be featured in Lockdown Casual, a limited-time mode containing random killstreak rewards such as the Juggernaut and War Machine. Another limited-time mode, Heavy Metal Heroes, will focus on explosive vehicular combat between squads.
The new Juggernaut Public Event will have players fighting for control of the powerful Juggernaut suit, giving whoever claims it a major advantage over nearby enemies. Loot Drones and airborne Buy Stations can also be shot down for additional equipment.
Hunter Killer Drones will join Resurgence and Battle Royale as a new killstreak, with more Warzone features planned for the Mid-Season update.
Resurgence Ranked Play will return for another season, giving players another opportunity to increase their Skill Rating, earn exclusive rewards, and advance through the Skill Divisions.
Four New Weapons Join Season 05
Four new weapons will be available throughout Season 05. The FG42 Assault Rifle and dual-wield Gremlin SMG will be included in the Battle Pass when the season launches.
The Mammoth LMG and Mace Melee weapon will be unlocked through seasonal events and Weekly Challenges. Additional weapon customization options include the Jäger 45 Grid-Breaker Kit, M34 Novaline Garand Conversion, and M15 Mod 0 .50 Cal Kit.
Season 05 will also celebrate Treyarch’s 30th anniversary with a series of events and rewards. Players can take part in the Machine of War event and compete on the Eidskallen Lighthouse Zombies Leaderboard to earn Weapon Blueprints, Camos, and other cosmetic items.
More than 40 Weapon Camos will be available to earn throughout the season by completing Weekly Challenges and participating in other seasonal activities.
Spectre Leads the Season 05 Battle Pass
Spectre will lead the Season 05 Battle Pass, which includes a mixture of free and premium Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, Calling Cards, Finishing Moves, Emotes, and other rewards.
The Season 05 BlackCell offering introduces the exclusive Cipher Operator and a Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint. Both rewards include additional variants that can be unlocked by completing in-game challenges.
New Store Bundles will also be released throughout the season, including Ultra Skins, Reactive content, and Mastercraft Weapon Blueprints. One of the featured additions will be the Tracer Pack: Operation Stingray Bundle, which includes the Forced Retreat Weapon Blueprint for the FG42 Assault Rifle.
Endgame Adds Burn Run and Ability Boosts
Endgame will receive a new Assignment called Burn Run, placing players inside a bomb-rigged vehicle during a race against the clock. Running over enemies and destroying objects will add time to the countdown, while additional bonuses can be collected along the route.
Season 05 will also introduce Ability Boosts, giving players another way to customize their Operators. These upgrades can reduce ability cooldowns, increase ammunition, add new damage types, and provide other bonuses to Major and Minor Abilities.
Ability Boosts will primarily be found within Nightmare zones, although they will also have a chance to appear in Zone IV.
Season 05 will be the final opportunity for players to access Endgame for free. Anyone interested in trying the mode without purchasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will need to do so before the free access period ends.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone are currently playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
