Evo 2025 Fighting Games Lineup Leaked By… Themselves?

By Kevin KellyJanuary 9, 2025
Evo 2025

Surprisingly, Evo themselves have decided to leak the line-up for the August spectacle. A special presentation will be coming up next week, but the organization already showed their hand accidentally. The Evo 2025 lineup surfaced by accident, which has already been taken off of the roster by the time of this writing. Fighting Games Daily took to twitter with this vital information.

  • Mortal Kombat 1
  • Tekken 8
  • Street Fighter 6
  • Under Night In Birth Sys Celes
  • Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising
  • Marvel vs Capcom 2
  • Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Arc System Works is able to get alot of the roster out with both of their 2023/24 release titles getting a repeat next to Guilty Gear Strive. Of course, Marvel vs Capcom 2 decides to make it back to the finals after its’ hiatus, giving Capcom its’ two spots post the 3rd Strike appearance last year and a solo tag team fighter representative. Thanks to Marvel vs Capcom: Fighting Collection, brushing up with the arcade edition might not be a difficult task. Hopefully, Justin Wong’s reign of terror has subsided enough to get in some matches online.

Replacing KOFXV is Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves, which gives players at least 3 months to lock things down post release. Luckily, a majority of the battle system and characters are already revealed at the time of this article, so getting tech might be an earlier affair before April comes. However, if anyone wants to main Street Fighter‘s Ken Masters, who will be coming to City of the Wolves this summer, this might be a bit detrimental since he will be appearing with no real date outside of the window. Whether Ken will be tournament legal will be up to the officials if his launch date is close to the event. The mystery character, who will be joining before Ken might be more of a shot. Mortal Kombat 1 will also be making an appearance, too.

From the way of things, the little League of Legends 2-man tag fighter that could – 2XKO – will not be on the main stage this round. None of the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 titles nor Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. / Ultimate Showdown 2.0 have not made it to the main area, also. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. did make the Evo Japan 2025 roster as a main game. Surely, we’ll probably be seeing Capcom vs SNK 2 in some form at Evo this year, hopefully. The 2025 summer tag-team fighter release, HunterXHunter: NenXImpact, is also not present. Fortunately, Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be scratching that tag itch alone.

For other announcements, we’ll have to wait and see on January 14th for the rest of the Evo 2025 presentation.
