Fans of the Legend of Heroes: Trails series were surprised today when GungHo revealed a trailer for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
As noted the last time we saw a trailer from Falcom, no publisher was involved, and they were looking for who to publish with. Popular options at the time were NIS America, which is working on the current Trails games, and XSeed Games, which already owns the rights to publish the original Trails in the Sky.
The game looks more fleshed out and there is now confirmation that they are using the Kuro engine designed for the Trails Through Daybreak games. This means that combat is mixed between action and turn-based. You can attack enemies in the field and beat them in real time, or change to a turn-based system at any time near enemies.

A new localization means we are not getting the same text shown in the Nintendo Direct. The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The release timeframe is Fall 2025 worldwide, making it the first worldwide release of a Trails game.
The information GungHo gave us also says that there will be an English dub alongside the original Japanese voice cast. I am so happy with this! Estelle is the best female protagonist in gaming and having her be voiced in English will be awesome! This game is also the remake of the first game of a legendary ongoing series.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will be released in Fall 2025 on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC.
