Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Has Been Greenlit By Paramount

Gotta go fast...with the new movies!
By Todd BlackDecember 19, 2024
Sonic The Hedgehog 4

Sometimes, you just want to go fast, and then, you have to keep going fast to feel alive. Ever since the release of the first Sonic film, fans honestly wondered how far it could actually go. Obviously, it would depend on box office revenue, but if it could be successful, how many films and shows could Paramount reliably bank on? Well, on the eve of the third film’s release, the movie studio has confirmed to Variety that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 is being made and that it’ll race onto theater screens in 2027.

Now, before you start wondering what the 4th film will be about, we need to remember that Sonic 3 hasn’t been released yet! However, director Jeff Fowler has confirmed that the film will have numerous teases about what’s coming and that foresight seems to have paid off. It also should be noted that Sonic The Hedgehog 3 has an incredible Rotten Tomatoes score of 86% and is projected to get the No.1 spot at the box office.

Thus, greenlighting Sonic The Hedgehog 4 feels like a “safe bet” for Paramount.
