There’s plenty to look forward to with Sonic The Hedgehog 3, not the least of which is Keanu Reeves as Shadow (whom Director Jeff Fowler recently admitted was cast because of his role as John Wick!), but Jim Carrey will return once more as Dr. Ivo Robotnik. AKA Dr. Eggman. However, in a fun twist that speaks to the series’ true lore, he’ll also play his own grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnik, who created Shadow. In a new featurette for the film, they show how Jim Carrey embraced both roles, including having a LOT of makeup for the second version of Robotnik.
The cast was clearly over the moon with not just Jim Carrey’s performances but Carrey himself. You can see the laughter and joy they have when talking about him, and Jim seemed to be having a lot of fun with the films himself.
