Wizards of the Coast has recently launched prerelease events for Foundations, the latest set for the world-renowned trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG). Foundations showcase powerful new and returning cards from Magic’s storied history, offering a quintessential play experience and the perfect entry point to join the Gathering. Foundations is the classic Magic you know and love, modernized for a new era of play. Longtime fans will appreciate the return of beloved cards and artists while new players are introduced to the very best from the Multiverse’s expansive collection of Planeswalkers, Lands, and Legends! No matter the playstyle or experience level, Foundations has something for past, present, and future players!

Begin a new journey 

From those joining the Gathering for the first time to veteran Multiverse dwellers, Foundations offers a special lineup for everyone to make the most of their collector experience:

  • The Beginner Box is where the journey begins! This includes all the essentials for a quintessential Magic experience, including two different decks with hands-on guided play, a reference booklet, special Foundations playmats and bonus packs for easy jump-in play with a friend.
  • The Starter Collection is the best entry point for collectors! This box contains over 350 staple cards for all colours and playstyles to bolster both beginner and expert-level decks, containing tutorials and expert recommendations.
  • Foundations Jumpstart Boosters for instant play. All it takes to build a deck is to shuffle two together, and with a themed collection of 20 cards for Foundations, the combinations are limitless!
  • Play Boosters and Collector Boosters for delving deeper into Foundations and discovering all that Magic has to offer. Whether it’s drafting packs with friends using Play Boosters or pulling the most stunning art cards exclusively from Collector Boosters, players will be able to expand their collection in style.

See Magic: The Gathering at its finest with a collection of stunning treatments coming to Foundations, starring iconic Planeswalkers, memorable locations, and stories from across its thirty-year history. Boasting 70 borderless cards, including special vanish treatment Eclipse Mana Foil cards, players can dive into the essential collector’s experience by getting their hands on new and reprinted cards available only in Collector Boosters.
