The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom Is Already Selling Well In Japan

By Todd BlackOctober 3, 2024
The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

We’ve been looking forward to The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom for a while now, and when it came out last week, it was clear that gamers were entranced by the new gameplay style and Zelda finally getting her chance to be the protagonist! Even with positive reviews from critics, the big question would always be how much the game would sell. Thankfully, we have a good indication of that via insider Stealth. They posted on Twitter that the game has already sold 200K in physical units in Japan!

Why is that a good number? First and foremost, Japan doesn’t have “big sales numbers” like the US or even the UK, outside of very specific games, so 200K for a new release is very good. Second, that’s jus the physical sales numbers, the digital ones aren’t stated, so it might even be closer to 300K right now. Then, when you factor in what it’s likely doing in the US and UK, it’s fair to be that the title has already gotten over a million in sales!

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom sold over 200,000 physical copies at launch in Japan.

For comparison, Link's Awakening Remake sold 141,375 physical copies at launch. pic.twitter.com/9X92LZcqcV

Hopefully, we’ll get more info on its sales numbers soon enough. In the meantime, stay tuned for our review of The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom!
