Evo 2024 Showcase and Tournament Schedule Revealed

By Kevin KellyJuly 16, 2024

With Evo 2024 Las Vegas literally around the corner, several developer talks and panels will be happening on the first day.  According to the site, beta exhibition tournaments from HuntexHunter NenxImpact, and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, will be among the events. As expected, reveals and discussions will be coming straight from the likes of Arc System Works, Capcom, SNK, Bandai Namco, and several FGC content creators and combatants new and legendary. Seth Killian, former game designer at Sony and one of the biggest names in the community(and final boss of Divekick) will also be in attendance for an interview with 6-time Evo champ SonicFox. Justin Wong and Yipes are also having their own panel. Third Strike Parry-induced Heart Attacks not included, hopefully.

FGC Feud is letting the fighters trade in the pads for buzzers in a spin on the classic American game show. No need for Steve Harvey when the FGC’s ability to bring out its’ randomness is around. Just ask everyone why Waffle House is being considered as a battle stage.

With these two titles amongst the many on floor, there’s a possibility of additional characters to be revealed for both Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and HunterxHunter x NenxImpact. Both games have ample amounts of characters to be used to make things interesting for either casual runs. Also, a high chance of a concrete street date for these two, as well as Marvel Vs Capcom: Fighting Game Collection Arcade Classics, to replace their placeholder dates. While the world is getting some high level play with current builds this week, 2025 is the year for both Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and HunterxHunter to see them at their 100%.

With about 10,000 attendees coming to this year’s event, the Esports event is already massive and record breaking as it is.

This is Friday’s schedule according to Evo’s official website(pacific time). The showcase will be on the main evo twitch channel.

  • 10 AM – HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT Panel
  • 11 AM – HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT Exhibition Tournament
  • 1 PM – Live Rivals React with Justin Wong and Yipes
  • 1:30 PM – Capcom Panel
  • 2:30 PM – GBVSR Panel from Cygames
  • 3 PM – Sajam Slam: Beat a Pro
  • 4 PM – TEKKEN 8 X Chipotle – SPECIAL EVO PANEL
  • 4:30 PM – Cannon Awards
  • 4:45 PM – FGC Feud with JMCrofts
  • 5:30 PM – The Art of Guilty Gear -Strive- Panel
  • 6:15 PM – Rivals 2 Panel
  • 6:30 PM – Seth Killian Interview with SonicFox
  • 7 PM – FATAL FURY: CotW & KOF XV – SNK Developer Panel
  • 8 PM – FATAL FURY: CotW Exhibition Tournament

As for the rest of the tournament, Grandblue Fantasy Versus Rising, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive, and Tekken 8, will be on separate channels. Nearly every major will have dedicated channels with a few sharing spots such as Mortal Kombat 1. Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 will spill onto other channels with their Top 24s. The first rounds will be happening all at the same time, starting at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT. Sunday will have the top 4 games get their finals out.

Evo 2024 will take place on July 19–21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Be sure to check out the Twitch and YouTube channels for the best coverage.
