Ikoku Nikki Receives Television Anime

It was announced that Tomoko Yamashita’s Ikoku Nikki manga series will be receiving a television anime adaptation. Studio Shuka will be handling the anime adaptation with Miyuki Ooshiro attached to direct.

Crunchyroll describes Ikoku Nikki as follows:

The story of Ikoku Nikki follows Makio Koudai, a 35 year old novelist who is shy and socially awkward and who lives a solitary life. Makio’s life begins to change when her older sister and her brother-in-law are killed in a traffic accident, prompting Makio to take in Asa Takumi, her 15 year old niece. Asa has a friendly and straightforward personality, so the two initially have some trouble connecting, but eventually their relationship grows into something unique and irreplaceable.

The manga ran from June 2013 until June 2023 for a total of 11 volumes. The release date for Ikoku Nikki’s anime adaptation has not been released as of yet; however, a promotional announcement trailer was revealed which you can check out below:
