Xbox Games Showcase and Direct Announced for June 2024

By Keith MitchellApril 30, 2024
Xbox Games Showcase and Direct June 2024

It’s been rumored for months that Xbox would host an E3-like showcase in June 2024, as if we didn’t need more gaming events during that month. Today, Xbox officially revealed it would be hosting the Xbox Games Showcase and Direct, a second show that will discuss a secret game, but doesn’t seem so secret, title afterward. We’ll talk about that part in a bit.

This Xbox showcase will take place on June 9th, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. During this event, a number of upcoming Xbox games will be discussed and shown. According to the announcement, the featured games will be from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios. This could mean a number of games, including the often-asked-about Gears 6 and Fable.

You can watch the showcase on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.

We’re going to be talking about games of course

As for that redacted or secret game, while Xbox wanted to make it seem like it was hiding whatever this redacted game was, they left a number of hints as to what it was. How? Where? As the Call of Duty account, CharlieIntel pointed out, that logo posted on the announcement, “The logo shown in Xbox’s image today is the logo that has been found in MW3’s files for Call of Duty 2024. ”

Call of Duty 2024? What’s that exactly? Well, while it’s too soon to tell you, CharlieIntel has also discussed the game on its website. According to CharlieIntel’s “Everything We Know,” this title could be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War and is expected to be released in October 2024.

So maybe this reveal is the kickoff, given that most times a Call of Duty game is revealed, the release date is usually 4 to 5 months afterward.

Regardless, it seems Xbox will have a great show planned for gamers this June 2024. I’m all about that eventual Gears 6 reveal and, hopefully, some announcement about a past Xbox game being given a second lease on life. And I don’t mean Fable.

Xbox Games Showcase and Direct will air on June 9th, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
