DSTLRY Announces First Anniversary Creator Signings

By Josh PiedraApril 10, 2024

DSTLRY is commemorating its first anniversary with the DSTLRY One Year Celebration from April 13–May 11. Throughout the next month, DSTLRY has partnered with local comic shops in four cities across the US and UK to host signings with DSTLRY Founding Creators.

The party starts at Cosmic Monkey in Portland, where Becky Cloonan and Joëlle Jones will sign on April 13, the official anniversary of DSTLRY’s launch. On April 26, Jock and Lee Garbett will sign at Field System (Presented by Gnash Comics) in Ashburton, where fans can also check out an exclusive exhibition of original art from Jock’s sci-fi series GONE, featuring work by Jock, Lee Garbett, and GONE cover artist Dom Reardon.

Challengers Comics + Conversation in Chicago will host Brian Azzarello and Stephanie Phillips on May 1, the launch date of Azzarello and Eduardo Risso’s brutal Western THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER #1. Finally, James Tynion IV will close the celebration in New York on May 11 at Midtown Comics Downtown, a few short weeks after the release of his haunted house epic with Christian Ward, SPECTREGRAPH #1.

Creators will sign their respective DSTLRY releases, such as early copies of GONE #3 available at Gnash Comics, though fans are also welcome to bring other projects to sign.

“DSTLRY has had a fantastic first year and we couldn’t be more pleased with our outstanding Founding Creators & Friends, from their work on The Devil’s Cut and their ensuing projects to the way they uplift their fellow creators at DSTLRY,” said DSTLRY co-founders Chip Mosher and David Steinberger in a joint statement. “We’ve been routinely blown away by the work they deliver and their enthusiasm in cementing the future of creator-owned comics, and we’re delighted to offer fans a chance to meet them in-person as we celebrate Year One and look forward to many more to come.”
