Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct to be Roughly 2 Hours Long

By Keith MitchellJune 4, 2023

With the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct just a few days away, Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg has taken to Twitter to reveal a couple of details regarding the livestream, which will take place on June 11, 2023, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Twitch, Twitch ASL, YouTube, and Facebook.

First is that the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct to be will be roughly 2 hours long. That’s going to be a long time, so make sure that you take a trip to the restroom and get your snacks in order because it’s going to be a long ride.

Aaron was also happy to reveal that every 1st party game that will be shown during the show will be either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics. As such, every trailer will indicate this so there’s no confusion. Aaron was also quick to confirm that there won’t be a focus on games coming out in the next 12 months. This is great news for those looking for Xbox to pump out some first-party games this year.

7 days until our first ever double feature. Roughly two hours of non stop games, games, games, games, and Starfield! 💚🙅🏼‍♂️🎮🚀✨🔥 #XboxShowcase #HoldTheLine👑 https://t.co/yUA5JT6ejl

We’ve already seen a teaser for the upcoming Fable game, so will this mean we’ll see this game being released sooner than expected? One can hope.

Of course, we already know that the rebooted/reimagined Forza Motorsport will be released this year, and as a racing game fan, I’m looking forward to this. Avowed, HellBlade 2, Perfect Dark, and State of Decay 3, are a few other first-party games to look forward to during this livestream.

Keep in mind, we got a look at the Xbox Studios roadmap earlier this year. If you missed it, I’ve listed it below. Will we see all of these games shown? I sure hope so.

Then, of course, we’ll have lots of Starfield to look forward to. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to see what Xbox has in store.

Oh, and there won’t be any movie trailers shown during the Xbox Showcase. Does Xbox even have a movie coming out? Hmm…

Can confirm there will be no movie trailers in our games show. 💚
