PSR: Wii U and 3DS eShop Closes in Late March

By William "Shadowz" KokFebruary 18, 2023

Nintendo has put out a reminder that the Wii U and 3DS eShop will be shutting down on March 27.

Reminder: As of 3/27/2023, purchases on #eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will be discontinued.

Until March 2024, you can merge your unused Nintendo eShop balance to your Nintendo Account, so that it can be used on #NintendoSwitch.

Nintendo will close the store for Wii U and 3DS on March 27th. About a month from now. Users with a balance remaining in their wallet will be able to transfer to their Switch system account until March 2024.

Nintendo announced this decision back last year and players will not be able to purchase any games/demos or DLCs after. You will be able to re-download any prior purchases as long you have the license and proof of purchase. If you want to play any classics or exclusive titles for those systems, you still have some time left. Whether or not Nintendo will bring these games back in another time and form is not known. The fear of missing out is slowly creeping, so make sure you have no regrets and purchase them to have access.
