Monster Hunter Rise Finally Arrives on PlayStation and Xbox Next Year

Capcom has revealed that the follow-up to its massively successful Monster Hunter World title, Monster Hunter Rise,  will finally grace the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox/PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud on January 23rd, 2023. For fans of the series, who didn’t either own a Switch or PC or didn’t want to play it on either, this is fantastic news. I suppose whatever exclusivity clause that was restricting Capcom from releasing the title onto other platforms has or will be ending soon.

For you PlayStation and Xbox fans, you’re going to be in for a treat. Be sure to check out our review of Monster Hunter Rise, to see exactly what’s in store for you.

Now that Monster Hunter Rise will be available on the PS5, the game will take advantage of the DualSense controllers, and will make use of the adaptive triggers. Both the Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 versions will feature 3D Audio, and 4K resolutions @ 60 frames per second.

We can’t forget that Capcom has also released a bunch of yummy content with Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, which only makes this news even better. Released this past June 2022, Sunbreak added new monsters, including some old favorites, a new location, and several fixes to the game. It also went on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide by August 2022. Which goes to show just how well the expansion was, and soon, other platforms will be able to participate in the action.

Sadly, it still looks like Capcom hasn’t and won’t add any cross-play between the platforms.

Monster Hunter Rise will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox/PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud on January 23rd, 2023.
