Games With Gold Will Stop Including Xbox 360 games Starting in October

By Keith MitchellJuly 5, 2022
Xbox Games With Gold

Today, Xbox revealed that as of October 2022, it will no longer include Xbox 360 games with its Games With Gold program. The company has already started emailing current members of the service and providing them with an update.

Beginning October 1, 2022, the monthly games provided to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members via Games with Gold will no longer include Xbox 360 titles. We have reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalog; however, Games with Gold will continue to include exciting Xbox One titles and exclusive savings each month. This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 titles that you redeem via Games with Gold before that time are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.

Thank you for being a loyal member — Team Xbox

While there are still a few months left to collect the Games with Gold Xbox 360 games, let’s be honest here. There aren’t many games left that are worthwhile that can be bundled with the service. For Xbox to have continued providing as many games as they have thus far is a testament to the service. But sadly, it has run its course.

Prior to this announcement, it was already noticed back in June 2022 that the Xbox 360 offerings were getting slim. Several had noticed over on Reddit that some of the recent games were repeats from recent years. And the most current GWG releases were mostly 1st party-published games.

Despite the bad news, Xbox confirms that Games with Gold will still offer Xbox One games for the future, as well as exclusive savings. There hasn’t been any announcement on if they plan to supplement those missing Xbox 360 games, with say Xbox Series X|S titles as of yet.
