Dragon’s Dogma 2 Has Finally Been Announced

By Scott AdamsJune 16, 2022
Dragon's Dogma 2 announcement.

We finally got some news that wasn’t about a port of Dragon’s Dogma, but it was the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2. We got it announced at the celebration of Dragon’s Dogma’s 10-year anniversary video!

Yep. It’s finally happening!

It is an awesome time for Dragon’s Dogma fans! I remember playing it way back when on the Xbox 360 and again on the Nintendo Switch when it got ported over. I loved making pawns and builds for them to send over to my friends and just the glory of its combat system. You could grab on to giant dragons or monsters and strike at parts under the scales under the arms and even the wings if you were so bold.

I am excited to see where we go from here and what the story shows us! Interestingly, they are talking about implementing more of what they learned from working on the Devil May Cry series and how that will change the battle system of Dragon’s Dogma 2. I hope it changes it for the better.

Capcom has stated that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be Capcom’s RE Engine, which is the same game engine that Resident Evil Village, Devil May Cry 5, Monster Hunter Rise, and Street Fighter 6 uses. As for what platforms that game will head to, it’s still far too early. But given that we’re just now hearing about the game, it’s likely another 2-to 3 years out. It’s a safe bet that this will arrive on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
