Neptunia x Senran Kagura heading to the Nintendo Switch

By Scott AdamsFebruary 3, 2022

October of 2021 Idea Factory international released a crossover video games of the Hyperdimension Neptunia Series with the Senran Kagura series titled Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja wars. Earlier today they have announced that they intend to release the game on the Nintendo Switch and on PC. Only Nintendo Switch has a release date currently of April 19th, 2022 for US, and April 22nd, 2022 for EU. You can get a limited edition version that includes more than just the game.

There are a number of differences between getting a base copy of the PS4 version and the new Nintendo Switch version and later Steam version. One big one is a new difficulty mechanic. You can use easy mode in case you are struggling in the game or hard mode in case you want to struggle in the game. They will add a few of the DLC outfits included in the switch game.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura Ninja Wars on the PS4 received very mixed reviews from critics and players alike. Some liked the action of the game play, but disliked fan service. Some believed there needed to be more story and more fan service. It seems this game is hard to come to a consensus on. This was a crossover that seems like it needed to happen however as both game franchises work on stories that deal with lots of fan-service and mainly main characters that are female. The game is about the struggle of the two nations with different martial arts schools. The Honeypa and the Compa martial arts style. In the midst of their conflict an army of mechanical ninjas appear wanting to take over both nations.

Gameplay is mix of action rpg with hack n slash. You get access to ninja arts based on the style of the character you choose. Each character also gets transformations to utilize the combat and rpg elements even further. It will be interesting to see how well this game will play on the Nintendo Switch but I am excited to see how it performs! Hopefully this can add an avenue of having more Neptunia games make their way on to the Nintendo Switch. Currently there is only Super Neptunia RPG and Megadimension Neptunia VII on the Nintendo Switch from the Neptunia series. You better have your PlayStation Vita if you want to play any of the other Neptunia games on the go.

If you want to try and grab a copy of this on the Nintendo Switch physically you can wishlist a limited edition or a standard edition version of the game to get emailed when preorders are available.
