Elden Ring Guide: How to Upgrade Spirit Ashes

By Keith MitchellFebruary 24, 2022
Elden Ring Spirit Ashes Summon

In Elden Ring, during your journey, you’ll find yourself acquiring quite a few allies, called Spirit Ashes. These are spirits that you’ll either find out in the world or reward by defeating enemies. Once you have them in your possession, you can then summon these to provide you with a bit more offensive ability or for tanking enemies for you. However, at the start, they are fairly weak and if you want to level them up, you’ll have to make a trip to see Roderika, the Spirit Tuner.

How to Upgrade Spirit Ashes

Before you can upgrade the Spirit Ashes, you need to have completed a small quest chain that will enable an NPC to become a Spirit Tuner. This NPC can be found on the main road heading to Stormveil Castle. Once you do that chain, that completes in Roundtable Hold, you can then upgrade your Spirit Ashes.

With that out of the way, you’ll also need to have collected Grave Glovewort and Ghost Glovewort. Both of these resources can be found in the numerous underground crypts and dungeons found throughout the game. So make sure you pick them up when you see them.
