MAPPA Opens New Studio to Deal with Increased Workload

By Josh PiedraJuly 7, 2021

There have been many stories from the anime world about studios having less than adequate conditions for their animators (along with extremely pitiful pay in correlation to the amount of work that is expected of them.)

MAPPA announced that they are looking to alleviate some of that pain by opening a new branch studio. This branch studio will be responsible for taking care of the upcoming Chainsaw Man anime series.

The multi-floored building was originally intended to be a doctor’s clinic that offers two large studios on floors one and two and a management suite on the third floor. The first two floors offer less sunlight, which seems like an odd feature, but it was the preference of the animators who prefer working in darker conditions as it helps them with their concentration. The second and third floors also offer lounges for relaxation so that workers could refresh between work.

You can check out the original tweet below which contains some photos of the new modern-looking interior of the studio!  Now you know where Chainsaw Man is being made!
