Kyoto Animation announced that the home release of Violet Evergarden: The Movie has been delayed until October 13.
The original release date was August 4; however, the studio mentioned that with the ongoing COVID-19 state of emergency in Japan, issues have arisen that are affecting the production and manufacturing of the movie. This is also coupled with the fact that the movie was a little more popular than Kyoto Animation expected as they had received pre-orders for the film that had exceeded their expectations.
This isn’t the first time that the movie had been delayed. Theatrical releases were also delayed thanks to COVID-19.
