Manga Planet Licenses Yumi Sudou’s Miyako Bijin Yawa

By Josh PiedraJune 14, 2021

Manga Planet is excited to announce the license acquisition of Miyako Bijin Yawa (Miyako’s Night Tales) by Yumi Sudo published by Shodensha Publishing Co., Ltd.!

Twenty-six-year-old Keiichi just got out of his dreadful former job, so it’s no surprise that the sight of his abusive ex-boss still makes him run for the hills – and right into a strangely horror-themed bar. There, he meets Miyako, a kimono-clad beauty who lets him air out his grievances. Her quiet charm and love for horror stories have Keiichi so smitten that he wishes he can meet her again. But will he still want to be around her even after finding out the real reason behind her kindness that night?

Molly Karinen’s translation of Miyako Bijin Yawa won the Grand Prize at The Manga Translation Battle in 2019, the world’s only official Japanese manga and light novel translation contest presented by the Digital Comic Association and Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs. Translated as Miyako’s Night Tales, Molly Karinen’s work will be officially released on Manga Planet.

Fans can read a free sample of Miyako’s Night Tales in the Manga Planet Library. Subscribers to the Library get to read the succeeding chapters in addition to other manga titles from I.T. Planning, Inc., Parsola Inc., futurecomics Inc., highstone, Inc., Starts Publishing, Shodensha Publishing, Thirdline, SOZO Comics, Tokuma Shoten, Home-sha, Inc., LEED Publishing Co., Ltd., SAN-EI Corporation, WANIBOOKS Co., Ltd., SHONENGAHOSHA, and by mangaka Masaya Hokazono and Nakashima723.
