Cyberpunk 2077 Returns To The PlayStation Store

By Keith MitchellJune 21, 2021
This is one of the many things that happens on console versions of Cyberpunk 2077

Just don’t play it on the PS4.

After being removed from the PlayStation Store during back in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has returned. But not that it’s back, it still doesn’t look like everything has been resolved. As you can see from the tweet below, it looks that the experience on the PlayStation 4 isn’t the best. In fact, PlayStation recommends that if you’re must play Cyberpunk 2077, then do so on the PS4 Pro or PlayStation 5.

Ouch.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available at PlayStation Store. Work on the PS4 version continues, with fixes and updates to be released throughout the year: https://t.co/XWCfOEQrLS For the best experience on PlayStation, playing on PS4 Pro or PS5 consoles is recommended.

— PlayStation (@PlayStation) June 21, 2021

I can’t say I don’t blame PlayStation on their recommendation. When Cyberpunk 2077 released last year, it ran terribly on both the PS4 and Xbox One. The insanely low frame rate, the numerous bugs, and the bad PR were more than enough to warrant anyone to stay away from the game. Despite CDPR’s best efforts to address the poor performance on the PS4 and Xbox One, I still can’t recommend anyone playing the game on those platforms.

At this point, I doubt anything can be done to make the game worth anyone’s time for the PS4 and perhaps maybe the game should have stayed a next-gen title. In any event, hopefully, a lesson was learned here. Hopefully.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on the PS4/PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
