Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom Official Name Of Sequel Film

By Todd BlackJune 10, 2021
Aquaman Review Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom

The state of the DC Comics film universe is still a bit up in the air in terms of what is going to happen next in the overarching sense. However, there are a bunch of films either in the works now or will be filming soon. And that includes the sequel to the highest-grossing DCEU film ever…Aquaman. Yeah, we still can’t believe it either. But it was a good film! One that has a highly-anticipated sequel that is currently set for 2022 (though to be clear that could still change). Regardless, we now know the official name of the sequel: Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

This came via James Wan who posted it on his Instagram (and Warner Bros posted that on Twitter):

Now, some of you might wonder what the “Lost Kingdom” is. Well, if you recall the first film, Orm talked with Nereus of Xebel about how the Council of Kings once stood united. Seven realms of Atlantis united. But, one of them was known as the “Lost Kingdom” that had “vanished” and no one seems to know why.

So given that at the end of the first movie Arthur became the undisputed king of Atlantis, perhaps it’s time that this lost place and people returned.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is set to arrive in December 2022, and if you haven’t already, check out our review of the first film!
