Max Thunder Is Back And He’s Looking To Bust Some Heads

By Keith MitchellApril 30, 2021
Streets of Rage 4 Mr. X Nightmare DLC

While Max Thunder, our friend from Streets of Rage 2, was also in the follow-up, he wasn’t the same guy. We had to beat some sense into him, and that actually hurt me. So imagine my surprise when it was announced that Max would end up being a playable character in the upcoming Streets of Rage 4 Mr. X Nightmare DLC.

Now I can get back to business by laying the smackdown as only Max can. Oh, I can’t wait to grab those rotten baddies and give them a taste of Max’s power. It looks for the most that Max does retain his Streets of Rage 2 moveset. And now he has a running jump wall splash, which looks interesting in starting or finishing combos. Though I didn’t see him performing his slide kick, I hope to make it into the game.

Oh, and check out the trailer below. Also, listen to that banger of a theme. I love it.

With the reveal of Max, there’s one more character left, and I still think it is going to be Shiva. Everyone’s been asking for him, just as much as they were asking for Estel. We’ll have to wait and see who’s right – but it’s totally Shiva.

As for when we can exist to get our hands on the DLC, we still don’t know that as of yet.  The release date of Mr. X Nightmare has not been released yet, but stay tuned as we’ll be reporting on the DLC as more info is released.

Streets of Rage 4 is playable on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. You’ve played it already, haven’t you?
