Halo: Master Chief Collection now optimized for Xbox Series X|S

By Keith MitchellOctober 20, 2020
Nintendo Switch 2, Halo

While Halo Infinite won’t be launching alongside the Xbox Series X and S on November 10th, 2020, there’s still will be some Halo to be had during the launch window.  Thanks to the recent update from Xbox, Halo Master Chief Collection has been optimized for the Xbox Series X|S and will be available on November 17th, 2020.

It's time to dust off the ol' Needler.

✅ Fully Optimized on Series X|S
✅ 120 FPS in Campaign & Multiplayer
✅ Split-screen improvements & up to 4K on Series X
✅ Available for free to existing owners or those with @XboxGamePass on November 17 pic.twitter.com/Ufusdsyd8C

All the games in the collection will feature 1080p@120FPS in both the single-player and multiplayer modes.  That’s double the framerate from the current Xbox One and Xbox One X versions,. The co-op/split-screen will see several visual improvements, up to 4K support on Xbox Series X, and 1440p on Xbox Series S. The collection will also feature cross-gen gameplay, so you’ll still be able to play with friends and adjustive FOV slider.

Halo Master Chief Collection includes the following games:

  • Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
  • Halo 2: Anniversary
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 3: ODST
  • Halo 4
  • Halo: Reach

The optimized version of Halo Master Chief Collection will be free to all existing owners, as well as Xbox Game Pass subscribers, this November 17th, 2020.

Sure, it’s not Halo Infinite, but this news should make Halo fans happy nonetheless.
