PlayStation has released its first PS5 commercial, is the price much further away?

By Keith MitchellAugust 20, 2020

While we still don’t have a price for the upcoming next-generation console, the PlayStation 5, we do have a nice shiny commercial from PlayStation. You know what this means, don’t you? It means the PlayStation 5 hype/marketing train has left the station.

It’s not a long commercial, clocking in at 75-seconds, nor does it give us any gameplay or anything of the sort. Instead, this feels like a “hey if you didn’t know we have a new console, this is stuff it can do”. More like something for the parents or the non-gamers to know that something big is coming.

Check out the commercial for yourself.

If PlayStation is ready to drop new ads and commercials, chances are that the pricing or event to announce the price isn’t that far away. Seriously though, I haven’t been this frustrated regarding a company not announcing how much blood I’m going to need to squeeze from a stone in a long while. I don’t get why PlayStation (and Xbox) hasn’t just dropped the pricing so we can figure out if we can afford the blasted consoles or not.

Speaking of launch, here are all the games that we know will be launching alongside the PS5.

  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Fortnite
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • NBA2K1
  • Madden NFL 21
  • Outriders
  • Godfall
  • Jett: The Far Shore
  • Destiny 2: Beyond Light
  • Dirt 5
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
  • Observer: System Redux
  • Bugsnax
  • Rainbow Six Siege

The PlayStation 5 will be released this 2020 shopping holiday, alongside the Xbox Series X. Are you looking forward to the launch of the PS5? If so, let us know in the comments.
