Overwatch Team Picks Tracer and Doomfist As Their Possible Smash Bros Entries

By Todd BlackAugust 1, 2020
Overwatch Tracer

Recently, Super Smash Bros Ultimate got Min Min from ARMS as the first DLC character from Fighter Pack 2. Which means there are just 5 more characters to go before the game is 100% done character wise. As such, MANY people are speculating on which 3rd party and 1st party characters could get in the game. Which of course brings us to Overwatch.

Overwatch on Switch was a big deal when it released, and it seems that its sequel is on its way to the Switch as well. Which is more than enough reason for a character from the beloved franchise to make its way into the game, right? During a Reddit AMA, director Jeff Kaplan and lead hero designer Geoff Goodman were asked about who they personally would want in the game:

“tracer plz” – Kaplan

“Doomfist could also work, hes kind of a fighting game hero already! He’s certainly inspired by fighting games.” – Goodman

Tracer is honestly the obvious pick. She’s the mascot of the brand, one of the most beloved characters on the roster, and her personality resonates with many. Doomfist would help fill out the “villain quota” if you will, and he would be a heavy-hitter for sure.

Now, to be clear, this is NOT confirmation of an Overwatch character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. BUT, the team has said multiple times in the past that they would be up for it if Nintendo asked.
