Tokyo Pop Announces New Manga Titles at Anime Expo

TOKYOPOP

Tokyo Pop Announced five brand-new manga titles at this year’s Anime Expo Lite! Below are the titles they announced!

Bang Dream: Girls Band Party! Roselia Stage

Synopsis: A story about a solitary diva, Minato Yukina, who decided to form a band and to go to “FUTURE WORLD FES.” to fill the regret of her father.

Ossan Idol!

Synopsis: Miroku Osaki is 36 years old, unemployed, and unhappy. Having been bullied in his childhood and even into his adult life, he became a shut-in after being unfairly laid off. For a long time, the only thing that brought him joy was online gaming. Then, he tried the popular idol game called “Let’s Try Dancing!” It was addicting… and transformative!  Inspired by the game, Miroku decides to turn his life around. He begins singing karaoke and going to the gym, where he meets Yoichi, the director of an entertainment company who encourages Miroku to pursue his dreams.

Miroku only wanted to be good at the game he loves, but when he accidentally uploads a clip of himself singing and dancing, it goes completely viral! Can he really become an idol, even at his age?! Suddenly, it doesn’t seem so impossible!

The God and the Flightless Messenger

Synopsis: A messenger’s duty is to care for and protect the god they’ve been assigned to. In order to complete these tasks, such messengers require wings.

Shin, however, can’t fly. His tiny, useless wings make him the target of ridicule and scorn among the other messengers and have kept him from being able to serve a god… until now. Determined to prove himself as a capable messenger despite his flightlessness, Shin accepts his assignment to a mysterious being on one of the nearby mountains. At first, it seems an easy task to keep his charge safe and happy — especially when the deity in question is just a cute, fluffy ball of fur. But things aren’t always what them seem.

Recently, messengers flying over the strange god’s mountain have been disappearing. Even as suspicion mounts against his deity, Shin just can’t bring himself to think that such a gentle god could have a dark side. It’s strange, but for some reason… the mysterious, fluffy being feels so familiar to him.

Bakeneko Katatte Soro

Synopsis: Matoi Souta is a salaryman who’s tired in both body and spirit. One day, on his way home from a grueling bout of work, he stumbles upon a koudan performance and decides to see it on a whim. During the performance, he sees a changed cat, causing him to jump in surprise, but eventually attributes it to the fatigue and brushes it off—until he sees it again.

Kusattemo Ani

Synopsis: A girl with a hot big brother who 4 years ago suddenly locked himself in his room & became a hikkikomori. On top he started drawing Boys Love doujinshi & turned into a god for the fan community. Can his sister convince him to join society again?
