Final Fantasy 14 is Free to Download This Weekend

By Andrew AgressMay 23, 2020
Final Fantasy XIV Online

If you have a PS4, you can currently download Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Square Enix announced on Twitter that players can download the starter edition for the game until this Tuesday, May 26th. So you have the weekend to download it, plus that extra couple of days when you think to yourself “what did I forget to do this weekend?” And once you download it, it will stay in your library for your enjoyment. Now, how does that work with the one Final Fantasy game that is an online MMORPG? Well, if you download it, you’ll also get a free 30-day subscription, allowing you to play the game for free for the next month.

It’s been a big time for Final Fantasy fans, with the release of Final Fantasy VII: Remake last month. It quickly sold 3.5 million copies in just 3 days, making it the top selling game for April. If you’re still craving some Final Fantasy content, you might want to try out the series’ foray into online gaming. Final Fantasy XIV initially released with a ton of bugs and issues, however it pulled through and became a hit MMORPG, hence the new title A Realm Reborn. Finding new success, it went on to feature several major expansions, such as Stormblood. But even without the expansions, the starter edition still comes with a lot of content. This is a Final Fantasy game after all.
