NBC’s Peacock TV Teases ‘Saved by the Bell’ Reboot, ‘Psych 2’ & More Shows

By Sara Roncero-MenendezApril 16, 2020

Add another streaming service to the pile! NBCUniversal’s new streaming service Peacock TV is pulling out the big guns for its big announcement. From reboots of old nostalgic properties, new shows, and continuations of other beloved series, the platform is looking to bring in fans hungry for more content from their old favorites. And to share the hype, they released all their teasers on Twitter.

First up, we have a Saved by the Bell movie sequel with Slater as a gym teacher at Bayside High, and several members of the original cast:

Then we have a sequel to everyone’s favorite detective masquerading as a psychic and his best friend. That’s right, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home is a real thing:

There are a ton of other shows coming out as well. Remember Punky Brewster? Well, Soleil Moon Frye is back as a grown up version of character who is just as quirky as ever. AP Bio will be returning for the platform. There will also be an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s dystopian novel Brave New World, Emmy Rossum and Martin Freeman star in a movie based on L.A. icon and billboard mystery Angelyne, a dark thriller called The Capture, and a David Schwimmer-led comedy called Intelligence. Peacock TV will even have its first animated show with Madagascar: A Little Wild.

Want to see all these trailers? You can find them on Peacock TV’s Twitter thread.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
