Marvel’s Avengers Delayed to September 2020

By Henry BuehlerJanuary 14, 2020

The developer of the latest Marvel game and Tomb Raider developer, Crystal Dynamics has announced today that they’re delaying Marvel’s Avengers to September 4th, 202. That’s four months from the original release date of May 5th, 2020.

This seems to be in its favor as the game no longer has to compete with The Last of Us 2 on the PlayStation 4 and is closer to the release of next-gen consoles.  The game was also met with a mixed reception in its E3 2019 reveal.

Fans were confused about how the single-player and online elements worked. Along with loot and gear similar to games like Destiny, there are also loot boxes and free content planned post-launch. Many fans also criticized how characters looked in-game, such as Thor and Black Widow. Needless to say, many were concerned about the state of the game.

The co-heads of the studio, Scot Amos and Ron Rosenburg stated in an announcement posted today that they plan to use this time to polish the game to a standard that fans deserve. They also stated that they’re fans themselves and are committed to creating an “original story-driven campaign, engaging co-cop, and compelling content for years to come.”

For me.. it was a Tuesday
