Betrayals, Secrets, and Dueling 00s in New ‘No Time to Die’ Trailer

By Sara Roncero-MenendezDecember 4, 2019

Daniel Craig is back at it, baby, and this time, his version of 007 has got a lot on his plate. After being burned by a lover and coming out of retirement, he’s got a new 00 agent to contend with, and a villain who will stop at nothing to…well, do what Bond villains do best. We get all that, and more, in the first trailer for No Time to Die:

Here’s the official synopsis:

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Besides Daniel Craig as James Bond, we have some returning favorites, like Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, and the always amazing Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny. Christoph Waltz even comes back as Blofeld from his time in Spectre. We’ve also got some new faces, including Lashana Lynch as the new 00 agent, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, and Ana de Armas as Paloma. Our villain this time is played by the intense and ever-fascinating Rami Malek. The character is named Safin, and he’s got a nasty face burn and sick mask motif going, as well as that killer voiceover during the trailer.

Confession time: I am not a big James Bond person. That being said, this trailer really sells the movie as an action-packed rollercoaster and I am here for the ride. Hopefully, it can live up to its own promises and deliver on all these intersecting storylines.

No Time to Die is set to premiere in theaters on April 8, 2020.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
