The Suicide Squad Gets Full Cast Reveal Via James Gunn

By Todd BlackSeptember 13, 2019

The Suicide Squad is going to be a very interesting film for DC Comics. It’s set to release in August of 2021, nearly five years after the arrival of Suicide Squad in 2016. What’s more, it’ll be headed up by James Gunn this go-around of Guardians of the Galaxy fame.

And now, officially, we know the cast of the film. It came from James Gunn himself, and you’ll see both familiar names and a lot of new faces. In fact, there are 24 names on this list, but as Gunn himself noted, “Don’t get too attached”.

There are some very interesting names on this list, including John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson (who reports say will have a cameo and nothing else), Nathan Fillion, Mayling NG, and many, many more. And confirmation of people like Idris Elba, as well as returning faces Jai Courtney, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis and Joel Kinnaman.

You’ll notice something I hope though. While the cast is “filled out”, we have no idea who a majority of these people are playing outside of the returning stars. So it’ll be interesting to see who all gets the spotlight and who will be dead by the missions end.
