The Last of Us Part II gets its own Media Event On September 24th

Looks like the hype train for The Last of Us Part II is about to depart from the station. Starting with a media event for the game that takes place later this month, on September 24, 2019.

Yes, one single game is getting its own media event. I shouldn’t even have to mention how significant that is. I’m not even mad, as this game certainly deserves the stage all to its self. If it gets us more details and footage, then who am I to complain?

And…here….we…..go! See you later this month @Naughty_Dog @Neil_Druckmann pic.twitter.com/LL6RZVbJc1

We haven’t heard or seen much on the eagerly awaited follow-up since gameplay trailer that was released during E3 2018. That’s an entire year for Naughty Dog to keep the gaming world in suspense.

What can we expect during this media event? Well, for starters, I fully expect to find out more about the landscape of depressing new world that the game takes place in. It was already bad during the first game, and with Part II taking place years later I want to see more of it.

Hopefully a look at Joel’s character, and find out his status. We didn’t see any of him during the gameplay trailer and even though it’s been stated that he’s a returning character, the lack of his appearance bothers me. He’s definitely not dead and we’ve seen a decent slice of Ellie. So why is ND being so secretive about Joel?

Lastly, I expect to see more gameplay being revealed, along with the long-awaited release date. Yes, I suspect that after months an years of teasing, we’ll finally get that release date. Can I call it and say that we’ll see The Last of Us Part II during Q2 2020?

As you can imagine, I’m super excited. I enjoyed the first game and played through it multiple times. I even purchased both the digital and physical copy of the remastered edition, though I never played through them, I have been thinking about it. Maybe I will play it, as it will help me pass the time while I wait on this to be released.

Bring on the sequel, it’s been far too long!
