Revisit Old Fiends in ‘Castle Rock’ Season 2 Teaser

By Sara Roncero-MenendezSeptember 14, 2019

Stephen King’s popularity only continues to grow, and his universe has been slowly expanding as cinematic inverses have become more and more the hip thing to do.

The teaser comes with a synopsis:

A feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan), Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.

We’ve already learned that this season of Castle Rock wouldn’t have any of the same character from season one, and that Misery‘s Annie Wilkes will play a major role. From the teaser we can see that she’s already on the run from the law for murder with her young daughter. Tim Robbins will also make an appearance as Reginald “Pop” Merrill, who is in a feud that will likely turn deadly. We also see Jerusalem’s Lot, the town filled with vampires, though this might be before takeover happens.

What is strange, however, is that we don’t know what the big inciting mystery is. In the first season, it was clear that the issue was the mysterious man kept in the basement of the prison who did not age and was creepy as hell. But is Annie’s arrival really going to be enough to get things rolling in a place like Castle Rock? Maybe once we get the full trailer, it will be clearer what’s going on.

Castle Rock Season 2 will premiere on Hulu on October 23, 2019.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
