The Last of Us Part II shown during the GameStop Managers Conference

By Keith MitchellAugust 27, 2019
The Last of Us Part II

The annual Gamestop conference is underway this week, right ahead of PAX West 2019 and it seems that one of the PlayStation 4’s biggest follow-ups was shown at the event.

As reported by Twitter user @Gaming_Forte, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II made an appearance in the form of some new gameplay. Sadly, this gameplay isn’t available to the public. This footage showed off a stealth segment and emphasized on how you can use the clickers to your advantage. According to the rest of the tweet, the gameplay was dark with only fire and flashlights providing lighting for the area.

In addition to this, Troy Baker, who provided the voice of Joel in the original game and now the sequel was in attendance. He didn’t mention much about the game, though I’m sure he would have if he was allowed to. C’mon Troy, give us the news!

When asked if this footage would be shown to the public, @Gaming_Forte replied with the word “Soon”. Which gives us a bit of hope that we’ll either see this during PAX West 2019  or possibly on September 26th, 2019, which is also known as “Outbreak Day”. The very day that the Cordyceps Brain Infection went critical and changed humankind forever in the game. There’s even talk of an upcoming PlayStation State of Play this November 1st, 2019. Which could hear something during this event if it happens that is.

Either way that footage can’t be shown soon enough. Sadly, the release date hasn’t been announced, but we’re speculating that it should be some time during the 1st quarter of 2020.

Maybe I should finally get around to playing the remaster. You know, the one I’ve been saying I was going to play for the past two years now.
