Supergiant Games is bringing Hades to Steam Early Access on December 10

By Keith MitchellAugust 22, 2019
Supergiant Games Hades coming to Steam

Supergiant Games is bringing Hades, originally an Epic Games Store exclusive to Steam.

That’s right folks. Recently announced by Supergiant Games, Hades is coming to Steam as an early access title and will be available on December 10, 2019. You can wishlist the game right now if you choose to. The full launch won’t be until the second half of 2020.

The isometric rogue-like dungeon crawler was a hit on EGS, as it combined multiple gameplay elements from several of Supergiant Games’ previous titles. Such as Transistor, Bastion, and Pyre. It was also the first exclusive that entered on the Epic Games Store.

Hades is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you defy the god of the dead as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld of Greek myth. We think it combines the best aspects of our previous games, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre. Asthe immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus as you battle out of hell, toward the surface, growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

As you can imagine, Early Access is just that. Meaning the game may have a few bugs that may or may not impact gameplay. Though from what I’ve heard, the game is in great shape so I wouldn’t worry about dropping the cash and picking it up.

Lastly, to sweeten the deal, anyone who purchases the game before October 16, 2019, will release a digital copy of the soundtrack. While I haven’t played the game (yet!), I’ve listened to some music from the game and it’s exceptional. To be fair, I don’t think I’ve heard a track from a Supergiants Games title that I didn’t like.

So if the game only being available on the Epic Games Store was stopping you before. Now you have no reason to pick up Hades on December 10, 2019. Seriously, if you enjoy dungeon crawlers, I’ve heard this needs to be on your list of games to play.
