Yes, I’m not kidding you. Yes, we’re talking about the same Ninja of Fornite and Twitch fame. And yes, he’s actually going to stream on Mixer, full time.

In the news that shocked a large majority of the streaming world, Ninja has announced that he’s moving to Mixer. There he’ll be streaming full-time, meaning he won’t be attached to Twitch anymore. Which I’m sure more than a few fans and subscribers over on Twitch aren’t too thrilled.
As to why he made the change, we can obviously assume that money was a big reason. However, we should also keep in mind that there’s been a lot of ongoing issues over at Twitch for the past few months. We’re referring to the Dr. DisRespect ban and how that was handled. As well as the recent issue with Alinity and how Twitch hasn’t done anything to curve her behavior. It seems like there’s constantly something happening on that platform as of late.
It’s no secret that many have become frustrated with Twitch and how they let larger personalities get away with murder. Which could likely be a huge reason why Ninja has left the platform. And if so, I don’t expect him to be the only one.

As for Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, he states that this move will allow him to “get back in touch with my roots”. To help him “remember why I fell in love with streaming in the first place.”. Which sounds like something a person who say if they were tired of drama or were just frustrated. It could also mean that he could be looking to do more than just Fortnite. For those who don’t either remember or know, Tyler got his start by playing Halo. We could possibly see him streaming other games. In any effect, I’m sure Mixer is happy to have him aboard.
Since this announcement, Ninja’s Mixer channel has soared to 51K subscribers and he hasn’t even streamed once yet. It doesn’t hurt that the channel is over free subs for this entire month. Microsoft is really going hard on this one.
As for Mixer, I’ve stated in the past my love for the platform. I was easily one of the biggest advocates, yet also one of their biggest critics. I’ve always stated they needed to start focusing on larger streamers while advertising the platform to draw in the crowds. With this move, as well as pulling other streamers and the upcoming changes to their monetary systems. They very well could be on their way to actually put up a fight against Twitch and YouTube.
One thing is for sure, with Ninja on board, I wonder who’s going to follow next. Oh, and cue the salt because as I said, there’s going to be some very upset people about this.
