It’s no secret that Microsoft has released dozens of special and limited edition controllers for their systems. Most of which I’ve tried to collect, much to the dismay of my wife. So I suppose I’m about to upset her yet again as Microsoft has announced a Fortnite Battle Royale Special Edition controller.
In addition to sporting a purple color scheme, this controller also comes with the Fortnite legendary Dark Vertex outfit, and 500 V-Bucks to spend in-game. Since it’s based on the updated Xbox One controller, it supports Bluetooth and is compatible with the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. Sadly, this one is lacking the rubberized grip that some of the other special editions featured.
The Fortnite Battle Royale Special Edition is priced at $69.99 and releases on September 17, 2019. It’s currently up for pre-order on the Microsoft online store and will be available at Microsoft stores and other retail locations on release. However, if this is like the other special edition controllers, it will be in Microsoft’s stores ahead of schedule.
And since this is a Fortnite themed controller, I expect this to fly off of shelves when it gets released.
