Next Week You’ll Only Be Able to Purchase The Division 2 On Uplay And The Epic Games Store

When it was announced that The Division 2 was headed to the Epic Games Store, many had had expected the worse. While things have been relatively claim, that all changed a few days ago when Gamesplant let the PC gaming community know that once the game is released, they won’t be able to sell the game. Which means for many of us, there go the discounts.

Sadly we have to announce you that Ubisoft will not allow digital third party stores, such as Gamesplanet, to sell Division 2 after its release on March 15th 2019. After this date, the game will digitally only be available through Ubisoft’s Store and another exclusive digital store. This will also be true for all upcoming game content such as Season Pass, Extensions, etc.

Take the opportunity to buy at Gamesplanet until March 15th 2019 and make use of the paysafecard promotion as this will be available until the game will be pulled from our stores.

This echos everything the PC gaming community was afraid of once the Epic Games Store game into the picture. None that the game is exclusive to the online store, it basically means other locations won’t be able to sell the game once it is released on March 15th, 2019. The only place to purchase it would be via Ubisoft’s online store and the Epic Games Store.

This means you won’t be able to purchase on Gamesplanet, CDkeys, GreenmanGaming, Amazon, or anyone else that ou normally would have picked up the title for a cheaper price. We’ve reached out to several online stores to get a statement from them. The sad part is none of the stores have a say in what’s happening. You can thank Ubisoft for that.

Could this hurt the sales of the game? Quite possibly, and it’s actually something I’m sure Ubisoft didn’t factor at all. PC gamers are a odd bunch at times. Long have we been happy to locate games, especially brand new games, at a discounted price. When we can’t, we typically wait for a game to go on sale. However, in the instance of The Division 2, unless EGS or uPlay are providing the discount. Many of us might sit back and watch the world burn.

So much for competition.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 releases on March 15, 2019, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
