New Mortal Kombat 11 Story Trailer Reveals Kronika’s Plan, Adds Erron Black, Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs

By Keith MitchellMarch 6, 2019
Mortal Kombat 11 - Erron Black Returns

When Mortal Kombat 11 was first revealed, it was heavily speculated that some sort of time travel would be involved. Well, turns out that speculation was correct, as we’re given more pieces of the puzzle. Thanks to the new trailer that explains the plot of Mortal Kombat 11.

You see, this new character, Kronika, isn’t too happy that Raiden played with the course of history and is doing something about it. Enlisting everyone who doesn’t agree with Raiden’s tampering, both present, and past. She wants to make everything right, as she believes it should be. Which means reversing current events, placing the current realms into yet another battle. Doing so means we get to see multiple versions of characters return, such as the younger and not-undead Lui Kang.

Shao Khan is also back and is in agreement with Kronika. While new alliances are formed, such as the one with Kotal Khan and Raiden. Which I’m sure is just the tip of the iceberg.

That’s not all, as we also see the return of Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, and Erron Black. The latter was leaked a few days ago, so his appearance isn’t exactly a surprise. Still, it’s nice to see him officially announced. This brings the confirmed roster count to 15 characters.

  • Scorpion
  • Shao Khan (pre-order only for now)
  • Sub -Zero
  • Skarlet
  • Raiden
  • Sonya Blade
  • Baraka, Geras
  • Kano
  • D’Vorah
  • Kabal
  • Jade
  • Johnny Cage
  • Erron Black
  • Cassie Cage
  • Jacqui Briggs

I’m sure we’ll eventually see Kotal Khan and Lui Lang added eventually. But for right now, they haven’t been confirmed. If you’re hoping to play as a Kronika, you’re out of luck as she was confirmed to be a non-playable boss character. There will be a new Mortal Kombat 11 stream that takes place later today at 11pm PST / 3pm EST, hosted on Twitch. While we won’t see any more character reveals, something was teased.

Lastly, don’t forget about the Mortal Kombat 11 beta that takes place from March 28 – March 31, 2019. You’ll need to pre-order the game for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to get access to it. Sadly, there’s no PC beta planned. Likely due to being able to datamine the heck out of the beta, which is known to happen with beta on the PC.
