Devil May Cry 5 PC Requirements Have Been Slighty Updated

By Keith MitchellMarch 2, 2019
Devil May Cry 5

Less CPU and more GPU

Back during September 2018, we reported on the revealed PC requirements for Capcom’s upcoming Devil May Cry 5. Seeing how the title releases next Friday, March 8th, I figured I’d check to see if the requirements had changed. Mainly due to the PC requirements usually changing a few weeks before a game is released. Comparing them from what we originally knew, the specs for both the minimum and recommend have indeed changed.

So what’s changed? For starters, the PC requirements for both categories have been lessened. Originally the minimum and recommended had required an Intel Core i7-4770. This has been lowered to Intel Core i5 4460 and Intel Core i7-3770, respectively. They’ve also listed the official AMD processor requirements, as I had previously added those based similar specs. AMD FX owners will be happy to know that the game will utilize the AMD FX-6300. That’s pretty decent of Capcom, especially since FX owners have been getting the shaft with several recently released titles.

The GPU for the recommended specs has also been upgraded, as it now lists the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 and AMD Radeon RX 480. Both of which aren’t expensive when it comes to GPU prices. I’m also assuming that this is just at 1080p 60FPS. I’d wager that moving up to 1440p or even 4K, that you’re going to need a bit more CPU and GPU. Just due to the nature of those resolutions requiring a bit more CPU and a lot more GPU.

Check out the full PC specs required below.

Minimum Specs:

    • OS: WINDOWS 7, 8.1, 10 (64-BIT Required)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460, AMD FX-6300, or better
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x with 2GB Video RAM, or better
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 35 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: *Xinput support Controllers recommended *Internet connection required for game activation. (Network connectivity uses Steam developed by Valve Corporation.)
Recommended Specs:

    • OS: WINDOWS 7, 8.1, 10 (64-BIT Required)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, AMD FX-9590, or better
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 480 with 8GB VRAM, or better
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 35 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: *Xinput support Controllers recommended *Internet connection required for game activation. (Network connectivity uses Steam developed by Valve Corporation.)

While we’re talking about Devil May Cry 5 for the PC, less address the rumor or speculation that the game might be headed to the Epic Games Store. Mainly due to the release date being absent from Steam for a while. As far as I know, there hasn’t been any talk of the game jumping ship. The release date issue pretty normal for upcoming titles and pre-orders. There have also been reports that this is merely a mistake that hasn’t been corrected. Lastly, it seems the game requires the use of Steam for its network connectivity and features that rely on that. I’d say more but that would be spoiling the game. For now, it looks like Devil May Cry 5 is staying on Steam for the foreseeable future.

Devil May Cry 5 is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2019, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.  Which platform are you picking up the game on? Let us know in the comments!
