Atlus’s Catherine Is Making Its Way To The PC; Receives ESRB Rating

Looks like I’m triple-dipping on Catherine

Catherine, a fan favorite dating back to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 days, just got a bit closer to being released on the PC.

Update: Just as we finished posting this, another sheep sighting was posted. This time it’s on the Valkyria Chronicles 4 Steam page. Only this time there are multiple sheep in the picture instead of the silly faced sheep. What exactly does this one mean, if it means anything at all?

Original Story

Yesterday, it was observed that the Bayonetta Steam Page that someone has posted an image of a sheep. But not just anyone, the post was done by “Sega Dev”, which caused people to speculate that Catherine was finally making its way to the PC. The sheep references the sheep that play a huge role in the game – they’re everywhere.

Could it be that Catherine was finally coming to the PC? Maybe. It wouldn’t be the first time that Sega has used another one of its Steam accounts to tease announcements of upcoming games. They did it for Bayonetta, Yakuza Zero, as well as Vanquish. So yeah, this definitely could be happening. Or it all could be speculation on our part.

Or is it?

In fact, thanks to today’s recent turn of events, it looks like this is really happening. The title recently received an M rating from the ESRB, with Windows PC now listed alongside the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions.

If this doesn’t tell you that the game is coming to the PC,  then I don’t know what will. As for an official announcement, we’re sure that Sega will make an announcement in the upcoming weeks, if not days.

As for taking this all in, I for one am ecstatic about the news. Sega has been slowly bringing over their collection of niche titles to the PC. Games that PC gamers wouldn’t have normally been able to enjoy unless they owned a console. With Catherine making its way over, that’s one more amazing title for fans to check out. However, this also means this is the first Atlus title on the PC and could possibly open the doors to other Atlus titles in the future. This also means this will be the 3rd time I’ll have purchased this game.

Maybe if this does good that perhaps we’ll see Catherine: Full Body make its way over as well. Possibly even the Persona series?
