The Outerhaven YouTube Roundup August 12, 2018

We here at the Outerhaven want you to know us not only for our passions surrounding gaming, tech, television, movies, anime, manga, etc. Every week we’re going to deliver to you a list of videos we have been checking out while cyberloafing the internet. It gives you a chance to see another side to us, one that isn’t focused on covering the latest news or reviews. While this list will be largely safe for work, we must warn against things that may incite any phobias that you may have. Enjoy!

Josh’s Pick:

In honor of Mega Man X Legacy Collection’s release, I got back into the habit of listening to music from the X Series. I came across a simply amazing rock/metal cover of the intro stage to Mega Man X3. While X3’s soundtrack wasn’t all that memorable overall, there were a couple of tracks that stood out and this was one of them. This remix does this track some serious justice!

Clinton’s Pick:

If you have ever watched the Japanese dub of the Street Fighter II Animated Movie, you certainly know the lovely voice of Ryoko Shinohara. Itoshisa to Setsunasa to Kokoro Tsuyosa to is the backing track to the fated battle pitting Ryu and Ken Masters against Vega (Bison) and is featured in Project X Zone 2 on Nintendo 3DS.

Little known fact: The Japanese version of Street Fighter Alpha (Street Fighter Zero) features CPS2 (Capcom Play System) arrangement of this song as the backing track for the Ryu/Ken vs Bison dramatic battle. The International releases feature Bison’s theme as the BGM.

Sara’s Pick:

Language videos are always weird, and this takes it to another very weird but very welcome level. And I can doubly appreciate it as a native Spanish speaker — the subtitles are all true guys, there’s no weird inside jokes going on. Enjoy the insanity.

That’s all for week’s roundup. Tune back in next week to see what we are sharing next!
